Oyster Creek fully recognizes its responsibility
regarding stewardship of the Ocean County environment and
the plant's impact upon it. This commitment is not limited
to mitigating for negative impacts; it includes support for
environmental organizations that are working to improve New
Jersey 's environment. As a part of Exelon Corporation, Oyster Creek follows the
corporation's clear environmental
policy.
It is the company's commitment to constantly improve its
environmental performance and to promote a corporate culture
where full compliance with environmental regulations is
the minimum level of acceptable performance. Oyster Creek is fulfilling this commitment through its
support of environmental organizations in Ocean County and
New Jersey . One example of this effort is Oyster Creek's
partnership with Drexel University to track sea turtles,
which are rescued at the station. The sea turtles recoup
at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center before returning to
their habitat.
