At Oyster Creek,
employees understand that the plant's safe operation results
in increased plant reliability. The station's commitment
to safety has positively impacted performance with Oyster
Creek consistently achieving above average marks for reliability
over the life of the plant.

One of the ways reliability is measured
is by the station's capacity factor, which refers to the
amount of electricity annually produced compared with the
theoretical maximum production, expressed as a percentage.
In 2005, Oyster Creek's capacity factor was 98.2 percent.
During the latest plant cycle, from refuel
to refuel, the station produced the largest amount of energy
since commencing commercial operation. The station's ability
to maintain its excellent record equates to reliable electricity
for New Jersey.
