Throughout the
license renewal process, there are a number of events and
milestones. Oyster Creek is working diligently to comply
with all of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's renewal
regulations and requirements to reach each milestone.

Public Comment on Draft Environmental
Report: The public has the opportunity to comment
on the NRC's environmental report, which will be issued
in June 2006. Check back here for details on the report
and the public comment period.

Aging Management Audit Public Meeting:
On April 20, 2006, NRC hosted a public meeting
to discuss the findings of an NRC audit associated with
the aging management programs and reviews used by Oyster
Creek in developing the application. The meeting, which
was open to the public for observation was held at the Lacey
Township Municipal Building . The NRC staff presented the
audit results and responded to questions or comments from
the public before the close of the meeting.
Environmental Report Public Meeting:
In November 2005, the NRC held a public meeting
to discuss Oyster Creek's environmental portion of its renewal
application. There were two public sessions held in order
to accommodate the public's work schedules. The specific
focus of the meetings was on any potential environmental
impacts resulting from an extension of the plant's license.
The findings of the environmental review will be published
in a draft report due out June 2006. The public will then
have an opportunity to comment on that report before issuance
of the final version in January 2007.
Methodology Audit Summary Meeting:
NRC hosted a meeting in October 2005 to discuss
their audit findings associated with the scoping and screening
methodology used in developing Oyster Creek's license renewal
application.
License Renewal Overview Meeting:
After Oyster Creek filed its renewal application,
NRC staff hosted a public meeting in August of 2005 to provide
information about the license renewal process and how the
public can participate.
